Leland Trice was awarded the MRICS designation by the Royal Institution of Charterer Surveyors (RICS). Trice is a Principal in Valuescape and manages the Eastern Region with an office based in Maryland. Trice holds a degree in Economics from the University of Maryland and has been a practicing appraiser since 1985.
One of the world's most respected and high profile global 'standards and membership' organizations, RICS is a member association for the world's leading professionals in real estate, construction and related disciplines. Over 85,000 qualified professional in more than 140 countries hold the MRICS (Member), FRICS (Fellow) or TechRICS (Technical) designation. RICS traces its history to 1792, when a group of 20 practitioners formed the Surveyors Club in London to represent the growing property profession. Queen Victoria granted RICS a charter in 1881. A series of mergers followed with associations across the property disciplines. In 1946, the title Royal was granted, creating the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the RICS Coat of Arms, with motto 'Est modus in rebus' (There is measure in all things). In 2006, RICS celebrated 125 years of holding a royal charter with a visit from Queen Elizabeth to the headquarters at Great George Street.
